Photography Series By Joe Trask Will Be Adapted Into New Book

Joe Trask's 2017 photography series "Bypassed: The Story Of Route 60" will officially be adapted into a new book of the same name. Trask first released "Bypassed: The Story Of Route 60" in May 2017 as part of his graduation series for his photography degree from Thomas Nelson Community College. The series documents the sights & relics of a bygone era along a stretch of Route 60 between Anderson's Corner & Bottom's Bridge in Virginia. This stretch of highway was once the main road between Richmond & Hampton Roads, only to be made obsolete when Interstate 64 opened to traffic in the 1970's.

The book will take Trask's photographs and weave them into a storytelling format supplemented by historical data, old maps, and personal stories from local residents. New photographs taken in 2018 & 2019 will also be included, most notably photos taken in the Bottom's Bridge area of New Kent County which has seen increased development recently.

No release date has been set, but Trask hopes to have it published before the end of 2019.
